Call for Abstracts is Open!


Now is the time to submit an abstract to present at the Joint Annual Conference! We invite you to share your water/wastewater knowledge and experience. Submittals that provide relevant, accurate information and insights, introduce new technology and/or innovation, demonstrate unique use of existing technology and highlight problem solving are needed. The call is open as of March 6, 2018!


The theme of the 2018 Joint Annual Conference Technical Program will be:  What’s Brewing in Rocky Mountain Water?

Note: The committee does not intend to extend the deadline this year!

Call for Special Session Submission Special Sessions are presentations and/or panel discussions lasting longer than 30 minutes or a group of several 30 minute presentations under a similar topic such as innovative water/wastewater technologies, water reuse, nutrient removal, or laboratory practices. You will be asked if you would like your presentation to be considered for a special session, then prompted to select from a few pre-planned sessions or to propose your own. Please submit an abstract in addition to requesting that your presentation be considered for a special session.


Call for Exhibitor Special Session Submission Based on feedback from exhibitors, we are accepting abstracts for exhibitor special sessions. If you’d like your abstract considered, check the box to be considered for a special session and select, “Exhibitor Special Session” in the drop down menu.


Contact Stephanie Sansom at by March 26th, 2018 if you wish to propose a special session. Note: all participants in a special session are required to register. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Committee and rated based on four criteria: Originality, Technical Content, Benefits & Significance, and Quality of the Submission.


For additional information please contact Cole Sigmon ( or Stephanie Sansom ( If accepted, presenters will be responsible for a 20-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session. Special sessions may deviate from this on a case-by-case basis. A written deliverable, such as an extended abstract or paper (common with national AWWA and WEF conferences), is not required.
